What changes have been brought?

Graduates with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree

Please note: In the field of study, university graduates are eligible for the PGWP. There are no specific requirements for this category of applicants.
Graduates from other university programs
The applicant from other universities must also show a minimum score of CLB and NCLC 7 for both English and French in all four areas.
Please note: In the field of study, if an applicant has applied after 1st November 2024, then they must meet the eligibility requirements for the long-term labour market shortages.
College graduates or non-university program graduates
For this category of applicants, it is required that the graduates show the language efficiency in the language test with the minimum score of CLB 5 for English and NCLC 5 for French. Proficiency is required in all four areas of the language: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Please note: For the field of study, if the application for a study permit has been submitted on or after November 1, 2024, then the graduates are required to complete the program under the specific needs of the labour market.
